Your information, explained.

Account: the name, email address, profile image and sign-in identifiers supplied by you or your login provider. We use Clerk to manage authentication. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.

Your transfer preferences: your current community college, target university and intended transfer major, including a custom major if you enter one. These choices are optional and can be changed in your account.

App and website operation: necessary device, network and request information, such as IP address and error information, to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. Recent views and temporary data caches may be stored on your device.

We use account information to sign you in, secure your account and respond to support requests. Your transfer preferences personalize the schools and data you see. The first version is free; it does not offer paid subscriptions or an agent chat.

We do not sell your personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use Google or Apple account data to train AI models. Published professor insights may contain AI-generated summaries of source reviews; your private account and transfer preferences are not inputs to those summaries.

We share information only as needed with service providers that operate authentication (Clerk, and Google or Apple if you choose their sign-in), hosting, network security and support. Google and Apple process information under their own privacy policies. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service. We do not grant other users access to your transfer preferences.

TransferAI account preferences are stored in a dedicated database. We use encrypted connections and restrict service access. Information may be processed outside your state or country, including by our hosting and authentication providers.

We keep account information while you use the service. On deletion, we remove your active profile and authentication account. Restricted backups expire according to their retention cycle; minimal deletion and security records may be retained to finish deletion, prevent account restoration, or meet legal obligations. We do not use retained records to personalize or market to you.

You can update or clear your school and major preferences in the app. To delete your account, use Account → Delete account, or visit our account deletion page without reinstalling the app. Contact [email protected] to request access, correction, export or deletion of your information. We may verify your identity before acting. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights; we do not discriminate against you for exercising them.

TransferAI is intended for people aged 16 and older. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.
